How are Penny’s Cupcakes made?
All our cupcakes are freshly homemade to order in our domestic kitchen here in Iwade, Kent. We use only the very best ingredients, including free-range eggs, unsalted butter, locally produced flour, and only the best flavourings.
We hand make everything and don’t use any industrial equipment whatsoever. Orders are baked in small batches with each cupcake carefully decorated one at a time.
How can I pay?
We accept payment by credit and debit card, PayPal, cash, or BACS transfer. We don’t begin baking until payments or deposits are received and cleared in full. For weddings and corporate orders we require a fifty percent non-refundable deposit upon agreeing an order with us. The remainder must be paid in full two weeks prior to collection or delivery.
Is there a minimum order?
Yes, we require a minimum order of 6 cupcakes.
How long do Penny’s Cupcakes keep?
As our baked goods are homemade using fresh ingredients we recommend eating them on the day of receipt, but they will stay fresh in their box for up to three days. Or, up to three to four days in an airtight container.
How much notice do we need?
It all depends how busy we are so it’s best to just ask. We prefer a minimum of 72 hours’ notice for a basic classic cupcake order and one week for bespoke designs. For weddings and corporate bookings it is advisable to order with as much notice as possible, preferably four weeks.
I have allergies; can I still enjoy your tasty cupcakes?
Unfortunately, we are unable to supply any gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free cupcakes. Although, this is something we are looking in to. Please be aware our kitchen is not nut free, and although our recipes do not contain nuts we cannot guarantee they are free from nut traces. Also, don’t forget that we often use nuts in the decorations on our cupcakes.
Do we loan cake stands?
Yes we do. Stand hire is £25 which is paid upon collection of stand. We have stands big enough to accommodate over 100 cupcakes! Please contact us to discuss availability.
Do we deliver?
We prefer orders to be collected from our Penny’s Cupcakes kitchen in Iwade. A time slot will be agreed for collection or local Kent delivery upon ordering; however we are able to deliver to Sittingbourne, Medway, Maidstone and the surrounding areas for a small extra charge.
Can our cakes be posted?
Due to the delicacy of our cupcakes we cannot post any orders via Royal Mail or courier.
Can you bake me a bespoke design, theme and colour?
Yes, of course! We bake and decorate cupcakes to bespoke specifications every day. Just contact us with your ideas.
Can I have a mixture of flavours?
We prefer to bake in batches of 6, so would request you choose flavours per 6. For example, if you order 12 cupcakes you can have two different flavours. Although, just ask, we’re more than happy to mix it up a bit, if we have the time!
Do your cakes contain nuts?
We do not use nuts in any of our recipes but we do use nuts in our Penny’s Cupcakes kitchen. So we absolutely cannot guarantee our cupcakes are totally free from nuts. Plus, some of the cupcake decorations may contain nut oils.
Are your cupcakes suitable for vegans or vegetarians?
Please contact us if you need vegan or vegetarian-friendly so we can avoid using any decorations that contain gelatine.
